Week 5
Good Afternoon Blog!
I had a very successful Week 5 of my internship! It was very fun and I got a lot done. This week, I developed more upon ideas I had come up with in the previous weeks and started to get the lesson plans more organized and formally written. I had to leave early both days, so I did not do as much as I had hoped, but my supervisor seemed pleased with what I had done. Monday is where I continued working on activity rough drafts in my activity rough draft sheet. I came up with a few more ideas that I want to utilize for my lesson plans and project! I also revisited past ideas and revised those and thought them out a little more.
Wednesday (today) I put those rough ideas into separate sheet so I can better organize them. I only wrote out a few lesson plans more formally, focusing on them one at a time. This way I was able to think through them, get them down into more formal writing that would sent to schools, organize the directions and better plan out the activities I have thought out for the kids. I developed three lesson plans today out of the eight rough drafts that I have written. These lesson plans center around specific school standards for civic and government. For example, one I worked on today was a Gallery Walk centered around Independent Regulatory Agencies. Now that I have the general writing down, I am able to work on the specifics of these lesson plans and utilize other resources, like Canva.
I am very excited to continue with my work. Making these lesson plans were a lot harder than I thought, but I am enjoying it a lot. I feel a sense of pride in knowing that my work could help middle and high schoolers learn about these important topics. It is exciting to think that my work could be used in schools. I love making trying to make learning fun, and I think it is important for them to retain information in an engaging way.
Until Next Time,
Sabrina.
